HOUSTON RON PAUL SUPPORTERS PARTICIPATE IN NATIONWIDE 10,000lb HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE WHILE SPREADING PAUL’S PHILOSOPHY OF LIMITED GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION
Ron Paul Supporters to Collect 10,000lbs of Food for Charity

Houston— Thanks to Houston residents, Texans in need will be less hungry this holiday season. That’s because Paul’s supporters have come together in a nationwide grassroots effort to collect 10,000 pounds of food this holiday season to help those in need during these times of economic distress while calling attention to Ron Paul's philosophy of voluntary charity being better than government intervention.

As Paul describes in his book The Revolution: A Manifesto, "Imagine the programs that constituted the federal "safety net" were all of the sudden abolished [...] How would you respond? Would you be more likely to volunteer at a food bank? [...] If you were a lawyer or physician, would you be more likely to offer pro bono services? We would all answer yes, wouldn't we? We need to ask ourselves: why aren't we doing these things already? And the answer is that we have bought into the soul-killing logic of the welfare state: somebody else is doing it for me. I don't need to, since a few scribbles on a tax form fulfill my responsibility toward my fellow man. Do our responsibilities as human beings really extend no farther than this?"

“We are part of the grassroots movement,” says Ron Paul supporter and volunteer Danielle Davis, “and grassroots has done so much for Dr. Paul’s campaign, despite mainstream opposition. We would like to show people – just as Ron Paul believes – that grassroots efforts of voluntary charity are a much more efficient and direct way to help those less fortunate than ourselves; government isn’t the only option.”

In Houston, food will be collected during December at the main office of The Walden @ Westchase Apartments, 2828 Rogerdale Road and will be distributed to the local Houston Food Bank on Dec. 23.  After 6 p.m., please contact Jesse Penick at jcpenicks@gmail.com or call him at 281-451-3517  to set up a drop off/pick-up.    For more information on the event, please visit http://RonPaulFoodDrive.com.  # # #

Ron Paul food drive!

I was looking at the Ron Paul Food Drive website and saw that there wasn't a drop off place in Houston!  I signed up to be the organizer to take in donations and keep them at my apartment (I have a 2nd room that is completely empty).  All proceeds will go to the Houston Food Bank.  This is not an official campaign initiative but a completely grass-roots organization.  Please email me at jcpenicks@gmail.com for more information on how you can help me; whether it's to take donations in your area and bring it to me or if you want to donate food.

Ron Paul or Bust!

Ron Paul or Bust!

by: Jesse Penick

So there has finally been a “scientific” poll if Ron Paul were to run as an independent.  18% of “likely voters” would vote for Ron Paul right now.  That number would drastically increase over time once Romney, Obama, and Paul all three got on stage together. I say this because Ron Paul is so much different than the other two.

Both sides put us in the predicament that we are in and Ron Paul predicted the bubbles and he is predicting more!  Furthermore, the peace candidate typically wins when you look at past presidential elections including Obama and Bush.  What is significant about this is what Ron Paul’s supporters say, even though Dr. Paul said he won’t run as a third party.  We would still write him in.  We, like Dr. Paul, would never falter on our morals now or ever, since we have been released from our chains and our blindfolds taken off.

The only hope for Obama to leave office would then logically be for Ron to obtain the nomination.  We do not straight ticket vote, we do not fall lightly, we will not vote for Obama or Romney. This statement is not just my statement but a common statement said by the run of the mill Ron Paul supporter, typically found on comments that you read on random news stories and Ron Paul support pages.

Ron Paul publicly said he would not support Romney or Obama or any other candidate that does not support his views because it would mean he would be turning on his values and his supporters and all of our hard work. Pundits and politicians alike have said (most notably Hillary Clinton while under oath in Congress) and reported about the dedication and energy we, as supporters, have so wake up and be liberated yourself or prepare to hand the election to the future “First Elected Dictator of America”.

When I say Ron Paul or bust, it means exactly that.  Not that Obama would win, but the American people would lose.  This election will prove that it is not about a politician winning but that the people win.

If the people lose in 2012 then be prepared for the worst decade in the existence of societies.  Dr. Paul’s predictions will once again come true and you, the people, will only be able to blame yourself and no longer the politicians because you have been warned and had a fighting chance to do the right thing and make your vote a moral vote; whether you believe your moral vote is to help the old and poor or to allow capitalism to reign as it should.  Ron Paul protects all of your rights and liberties from the day you are conceived and throughout your life!

We are the 18%! Dr. Ron Paul or Bust!

Ron Paul is the winner!

Ron Paul killed with what little time the establishment gave him! Don't debate the only DOCTOR in the field on healthcare and don't argue with a man that has predicted everything that you claim to want to fix! He is the ONLY person to actually reign in government and he is the Champion of the Constitution!

Next: Found this on a message board:

Attention Ron Paul: "privatizing" is not the answer to everything; there is no business incentive to privatize activities with no profit potential, like airport security screening.
It's time for someone to show Mr. Paul back to his room at the home.
Ron Paul would laugh in your face! The business incentive is that if you don't provide safe travel for your customers then you don't get business! This is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard.  That is all for now!

Except at 11:02p.m. after the debate Ron Paul has almost doubled the 2nd place in the MSNBC poll! Out of 27,582 votes, Ron Paul leads with 40.8% of the votes (11,240) and 2nd place is Mitt with 22.6% (6,237). Clear winner only hours after the debate!

So I need a blog for my MIS class

Good thing I already have one so instead of political thoughts, it will be business orientated for the time being.

Vote Ron Paul!

If I ran for any office...

I would hire the writers of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report to tell me nothing was stupid in any of my speeches... lol

Wow It's been a long time!

So a lot has happened since January.  If anyone has any questions to what I think about WWJD then feel free to ask.
Few links you need to check out. http://www.ronpaul2012.com/ http://www.colbertsuperpac.com/

Ron Paul is my pick for president!  I know some of his stuff can be a little unorthodox sometimes but seriously listen to his ideas.

Casey Anthony should have been acquitted... I don't care what anyone says.  The jurors were right in their decision because the prosecution couldn't  PROVE she did it.  Now don't get this confused with do I think she did it because honestly I think she did.

Red light cameras are back on in Houston.  I'm all for this.  The only people that don't want them are people who run red lights. Period.

Not really in the writing mood but wanted to put something out there.

More soon... I promise...

So a few of my friends have enjoyed my 3 posts before and I have a subject for my next post but I really haven't been able to sit down and really write about what my few posts will be... I know what they are but I'm going to need more than 20 minutes to even explain the terminology of some of the stuff I'm going to talk about because I've found out it really isn't common knowledge.

Dear Jon...

Recently a Facebook friend sent me an email with some of his thoughts about my blog and he asked me to respond.
"there are some things that are so outdated in the constitution that i think it needs to be reviewed. mistakes like prohibition...things that didn't work like returning a slave back to his owner no matter what state he lives in..."
These are kept on record to show where we have come from.  It is reviewed constantly by law makers and your average every day citizen.  Yes somethings can be called out dated but why is it that America has lasted as long as it has with everyone being jealous of it.  The Constitution in vague.  Thus the constant fighting of people with different back grounds.  Some of the Constitution will actually contradict itself.  This allows people in the 21st century to have the same Constitution as the people in the 18th century.  There are certain judges, lawyers, and citizens that read the Constitution completely differently from each other.  If we always went with the letter of the law then we would certainly get no where.
" that's not happening when certain sides block over-all progress when they don't get their way."
This has been happening since the beginning of time.  Some delegates from some Northern States on July 4th purposely were not there so sign it because they agreed that it would have to be a unanimous decision.  That state was Pennsylvania if you wanna fact check me. :-)  Because that delegate would not sign Penn. sent a entirely new delegation so that they would sign it.  If you don't like what you see then do something about it.  There were many people in that Congress that signed it even though it went against their moral judgement.  Jefferson wanted slaves freed even though he had quite a few of them.  Thus came the 3/5ths Compromise.  Cruel and unjust in it's concept but that were the kind of things that people would succumb to get the other side of the isle to vote for it.  Bill of Rights, written by Anti-Federalists, later to become Republicans is one of those things that we must not forget.  These people did  not worry about what religion or where you came from but what was for the good of the people.  These people wanted a smaller government and these people were a minority.  They stalled legislation to get one of the most important things introduced in our history as a country.

The rest of the letter goes into separation of Church and State and the religious aspects of what is on the dollar bill.  These issues will be answered at a later date.

Thursday, January 6, 2011

I know I don't have any followers yet...

But I wish I had input on what people wanted to hear about.  I wanted to talk about separation of Church and State but I think I'm going to leave that for a later date.  Here is a current event.... For the first time ever the entire Constitution was read aloud in Congress.  Shouldn't this be a requirement BEFORE being a civil servant?  Not only should it be read but it should be interpreted into many different views.  "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."  When I argue/debate I never go into a subject I don't know both sides to.  That is part of making informed decisions.  Not talking points, not what you heard on a radio/tv show, not what your parents(this is a subject to be talked about later; where your beliefs come from) or friends say.  Make informed decisions that you came up with.  Here's my first WWJD: Make a law requiring all people running for office pass a class and test (verbal and written sections) solely about the Constitution and another class showing the history of our government and how it came to be. This class should be paid for by the person wanting to run not the campaign funds and retaken every 4 years of office. Did i mention reading it during the session of Congress is a complete waste of time and money?

First Post!

I would never call myself a writer and this is my first attempt at blogging.  This blog will be a political blog about what I, Jesse Penick, would do as a politician and what I generally think about politics.

First and foremost, you must know a little about me.  I don't think everything should be described as liberal and conservative.  I believe our founding fathers had it right the first time.  For me the distinction between a Federalist and an Anti-Federalist is a much better declaration about your political beliefs.  I am an Anti-Federalist; the government should be much smaller than it is.  But for the sake of argument I am a fiscal conservative and a social liberal/libertarian.  I say liberal/libertarian because I don't believe government has the right to get in to some social issues.  For instance, gay marriage and gays in the military.  "All men are created equal." Yes that means women too.  End of story. Period.   No reason to argue past that.  It's already been said so quit bitching about something that has nothing to do with you.  It's not in your house and it doesn't affect you in any way.

I would say I come from a pretty conservative background but there's just something right with extreme left wing and right wing people.  What's wrong with being a moderate?  Why aren't there more independents in office?  Why aren't people listening? More later.
